Port Adelaide will throw debutant Logan Austin into the AFL deep end, with a potential match-up against Collingwood's Travis Cloke.

Tall defender Austin will play his first AFL game for Port against the Magpies on Sunday at the MCG, and coach Ken Hinkley backs him against Cloke and other Magpie marking targets.

"We are not going to be uncomfortable putting him on any one of their three talls," Hinkley told reporters on Friday.

Hinkley also confirmed that Austin, as well as defender Matthew Broadbent, as Karl Amon and Jack Hombsch (inj.) go out of the side. Amon will be the travelling emergency.
